Whernside from Ribblehead - 8 miles. 450 mtrs ascent

Meet at postcode LA6 3JF. w3w congas.restores.pacifist. 100mtrs east of the junction of Blea Moor Rd (B6255) and Gauber Rd (B6479). Grid Ref SD 767 793. Free road side parking.

From the road we walk by Ribblehead Viaduct to Grain Head and then to the top of Whernside. From there we walk down Whernside to Bruntscar and then by the bottom Whernside to Winterscales and back under the viaduct to the start.

Care needs to be taken walking down Whernside, it is quite steep in parts and can be slippery.
